Maruti’s Nexa Retails Over 1 Lakh Cars In 1 Year

NEXA, the new automotive sales channel of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), has completed one year of operations.

Carmaker Nissan said on Thursday that its flagship model Micra has topped the exports chart in June, with the company shipping 6,807 units of the auto that was developed at its Chennai plant.The milestone confirms Nissan’s position as a major contributor to Make in India, the company said.

Celebrating NEXA’s first anniversary, R.S Kalsi, executive director, marketing and sales said, “Nexa has been created to address the needs of a new and growing segment of Indian customers”.

The next generation Maruti Suzuki Swift was recently tested in Germany. These managers help the customer with a totally digital experience and help them choose their auto.

He further added that the company is working on ways to enhance the purchase and ownership experience by providing experiences beyond showroom. The Nexa line of showrooms was introduced to pull the manufacturer out of its “mass-market vehicle manufacturer” image for its new generation of premium cars.

“We will curate new experiences around fashion and lifestyle, music and travel”. This is about 10% of MSIL’s total domestic sales, the company said. Until the start of this calendar year, the company had opened a 100 such showrooms and has a target to increase the number to 250 by March next year. These experiences will touch the lives of customers through worldwide music festivals, fashion/styling sessions and long distance drives.

At present the NEXA outlets stand at 150 showrooms across 94 cities in the country. The stock hit a high of Rs 4,699 and a low of Rs 4,570 so far during the day. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 696636649.
