The Apple Watch effect? Traditional watch sales drop 14 percent in June
Producers such as Swatch Group AG, the maker of Omega, have maintained that Apple’s entry isn’t a threat and will spur sales of traditional timepieces in the long term by getting young people in the habit of wearing a watch. According to Bloomberg’s calculations-a napkin comparison that looks at the average selling price of an Apple Watch and the revenue growth Apple reported in June for the specific business unit Apple Watches reside in-it’s plausible that Apple has sold around 1.9 million Apple Watches at least. It is now in the market and the company set the price to $150.

The Switzerland based watch manufacturing company launches Swatch wristwatches from the series SISTEM51.
While the Apple Watch is still on top of the smartwatch market, recent survey shows that the flagship wearable device from the tech giant is suffering slow market sales. Swatch SISTEM51, 100 percent Swiss made, features a self-winding mechanical movement with just 51 parts and an extraordinary 90-hour power reserve. It’s an automatic watch, and it isn’t pretentious. Luxury watch aficionado Brice Goulard of Monochrome Watches was quoted by Slate as saying the Sistem51 is “one of the most important new watches of the last 10 years”.
The affordable price and innovative characteristics of the new Swatch variants could make it more appealing to those who had been skeptical about buying a luxury-brand, fashion watch or an Apple watch. Spending big on branded items such as the Apple Watch is no longer practical for them. People now tend to allot a bigger portion of their money on technology than on apparel and accessories.
The Apple Watch also faces a problem that analog watches do not: battery life. It does not use batteries and is automatically recharged with arm movements of the wearer.

While tech enthusiasts might still find the allure in the Apple Watch, regular consumers might find solace in this watch’s simplicity.
