“And I think these emails reiterate that reason why she should not be chair”, he told ABC’s This Week programme.

Sanders was critical of the Florida congresswoman throughout the primary, accusing the party of rigging the process in favor of Clinton.

Debbie Wassermann Schultz, the outgoing Democratic Party boss, was booed by delegates from her own home state over the party’s leaked emails.

Democratic leaders were booed at the opening of the party’s convention on Monday as anger boiled over following the revelation of emails showing Democratic National Committee officials trying to undermine Bernie Sanders’ candidacy.

In a statement, Wasserman Schultz says she still plans to fulfil her duties formally opening and closing the convention in Philadelphia.

In an interview with CNN, Sanders, once again, called on Schultz to resign.

So it turns out that the Democratic National Committee isn’t the only Democratic group to be hacked.

Wasserman Schultz is up for reelection for her House seat, and faces a woefully low approval rating in the state at 19 percent, according to the only poll in the race. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., participates in the Democratic Candidates Debate hosted by NBC News and YouTube on January 17, 2016, in Charleston, South Carolina.

“So I can see there’s a little bit of interest in my being here”, Wasserman Schultz said, visibly shaken as police moved in to push back the crowd.

Wasserman Schultz announced her resignation as chair on Sunday, after WikiLeaks posted almost 20,000 leaked emails by top Democratic National Committee officials over the course of the primary season. I look forward to serving as a surrogate for her campaign in Florida and across the country to ensure her victory.

Sanders had demanded that Wasserman Schultz resign earlier in the day.
