On Monday morning, at a Florida delegation breakfast, faced a chorus of boos from Sanders supporters. It also sapped some of Clinton’s energy coming out of Republican Donald Trump’s chaotic convention last week and the well-received rollout Saturday of her running mate, Virginia Sen.
Wasserman Schultz herself is up for re-election and facing a Democratic primary challenger next month. Merkley, the only US senator who endorsed Sanders, began by talking up his blue collar roots, saying that “where I come from, people like Donald Trump are not the solution, they are the problem”.
Delegate Taz Tally says he has always been a nonpartisan but got involved in the Democratic party because of Sanders.
Edward Snowden today questioned if Schultz’s interim replacement Donna Brazile is also biased against Sanders.
However, she had to break her speech off early and was escorted off the stage by security.
The resignation of Debbie Wasserman Schultz as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee made for a rocky start on Sunday.
Yet many die-hard backers of Sanders they weren’t ready to coalesce around Clinton’s presidential bid despite his pleas. And Bill Clinton’s speech Tuesday night will pique extra interest since he hopes to be the first first man. Bill Clinton also carries the extra title of ex-president and is a beloved figure to party faithful. NBC10’s Jim Rosenfield has the latest, including the reaction from Bernie Sanders supporters.

Comedian Sarah Silverman didn’t mince words in her message to die-hard Bernie Sanders supporters at the Democratic convention: “Can I just say to the Bernie or bust people, you’re being ridiculous”.
