Clinton campaign also hacked in attacks on Democrats
The DCCC, a political committee working to get Democrats elected to the House of Representatives, shares office space with the DNC.

“It’s no coincidence someone is hacking into Democratic Party computers”.
The announcement comes as the FBI investigates a hack at the DNC that resulted in the posting last week of embarrassing internal communications on WikiLeaks, and a similar intrusion of the House Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
USA officials had strongly suspected that the Russian government was involved in the DNC hack.
After emails were leaked from the DNC hack, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Wednesday invited Russian Federation to dig up thousands of “missing” emails from Clinton’s time at the State Department, prompting Democrats to accuse him of urging foreigners to spy on Americans.
The previously unreported incident at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, or DCCC, and its potential ties to Russian hackers are likely to heighten accusations, so far unproven, that Moscow is trying to meddle in the USA presidential election campaign to help Republican nominee Donald Trump.
Russian officials have dismissed the allegations of Moscow’s involvement in such hacks.
The hack of the DCCC, which is based in Washington, was reported first by Reuters on Thursday, ahead of Clinton’s speech in Philadelphia accepting the Democratic party’s nomination.
“Based on the information we have to date, we’ve been advised by investigators that this is similar to other recent incidents, including the DNC breach”.
As a result of that disclosure, party chairwoman Rep.
CNN reported Friday evening the Federal Bureau of Investigations is investigating the hack of Clinton’s campaign. The committee is supposed to be neutral.
The FBI will also try to determine if APT 28 or an affiliated group passed those emails to WikiLeaks, law enforcement sources said. “It is so absurd it borders on total stupidity”, Kremlin spokesman Peskov said on Thursday.
Wednesday morning (July 27), Republican Presidential Nominee Donald J. Trump held a press conference at his golf club, Trump National Doral Miami. However, Trump’s comments regarding the hack and release of emails, chats, and documents originating from computer servers at the Democratic National Committee have garnered the most attention.
Jim Manley, a Democratic strategist who once worked for Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, said the possibility of the DCCC being hacked was cause for great concern.
In May, the nation’s top spy, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper Jr., warned that the intelligence community had seen “indications” of hacks and attempted intrusions of presidential campaigns.

Clapper, speaking at the Aspen Security Forum, acknowledged that “there’s just a few usual suspects out there” who might be responsible for the cyber intrusion, suggesting it was the work of a state actor rather than an independent hacking group.
