The former president did not mention the infamous late-1990s Lewinsky scandal that led his impeachment in the House under charges of lying under oath to a federal grand jury and obstruction of justice. I anxious she would do that this time around, try to overwhelm the crowd with policy chatter in an effort to get people to believe she is competent. That’s how we’ve always moved this country forward – by all of us coming together on behalf of our children – folks who volunteer to coach that team, to teach that Sunday school class because they know it takes a village. Her husband not only cheated, but did so when he was one of the most visible men on the planet, plunging her into the middle of a national scandal and forcing her to work through personal humiliation and marital devastation under the prying, judgmental and sometimes cruelly mocking eye of the public. It’s a vote she will later say she came to regret. Hillary may be a presidential candidate, but it seems that Bill hasn’t forgotten that she is first and foremost his wife, his partner, and his rock.
“This is the beginning of another four years where we know we’re going to make strides, and she does not take that lightly. That’s the future we’re working toward”, she continued. “It was a great speech, it was a unifying speech”, she said.

The nomination of a female candidate for the highest office in the United States deserves all the appreciation, but there are still questions about why it took more than two centuries for the most developed democracy in the world, championing human rights and gender equality, to even nominate a female candidate for the White House.

Because this, right now, is the greatest country on earth. We can not afford to be exhausted, or frustrated, or cynical. “Both the attorney general and my husband have said they wouldn’t do it again, even though it was from all accounts that I have heard and seen, an exchange of pleasantries”. Trump has been trying to cash on the issue in every event he addresses, and Clinton will need to find a way to get over all this chaos, departing from some of her past decisions in the political affairs.
