Hillary Clinton: The Star of Both Conventions

In her speech, Clinton embraced her reputation as a politician more comfortable looking at the details of proposed laws or other government actions than giving speeches.

The vice presidential nominee said he was proud of how “upbeat positive” the Democrats’ convention was compared to the Republican one last week in Cleveland, which Kaine said was “a journey through Donald Trump’s mind – and that is a very frightening place”. “Like so much else, I got this from my mother”, Hillary said. “We saw this nation come together like it has never come together before”, he said.

He also accused Clinton of being dishonest about his abilities as a campaigner. “The America I know is decent and generous”, he had said. “Your cause is our cause”. “Same old stuff, our country needs change!”

“Stronger together” was also a fitting theme when you realize how heavily she leaned on those who proceeded her to the podium this week to convince a reluctant American public that she should be president.

This was her riposte to a Trump tweet that read: “Obama just endorsed Crooked Hillary”.

In the chart below, Trump’s numbers are on the left and Clinton’s are on the right.

Her campaign has identified them as the “Donald Trump Park Avenue Collection” – four inches by six inches (about 10 cm X 15 cm) picture frames. Imagine him in the Oval Office facing a real crisis. “Don’t let anyone tell you we don’t have what it takes”.

The historic nature of the week’s proceedings was not lost on Clinton. Happy for boys and men, too – because when any barrier falls in America, for anyone, it clears the way for everyone.

“When there are no ceilings, the sky’s the limit”, she said. The charge comes after Melania Trump was criticised for lifting significant portions of her address to the convention from Michelle’s first convention speech in 2008.

Clinton was welcomed with loud cheers as she entered the arena and embraced her daughter Chelsea, who introduced her as the next President of the United States.

“That feeling of being loved and valued, that’s what my mom wants for every child”.
