Hillary Clinton DNC Acceptance Speech

“It was a journey through Donald Trump’s mind, and that’s a very frightening place”. Typically, the GOP nominee approaches the task of commenting on a political rival’s oratory like a middle-school bully approaches the task of commenting on the teacher’s pet’s new braces. According to the tech company, online conversation during the last night of the Democratic National Convention was 22 percent less negative and 44 percent more positive than it was a week earlier when Trump spoke.

When he mentioned Clinton’s use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state and why the Federal Bureau of Investigation chose not to prosecute her because of the way she’d handled classified information, the crowd began chanting “Lock her up”, suggesting Clinton should be jailed. “He’s the only one that gets it”, Trump was quoted by ABC as saying. I get it, that some people just don’t know what to make of me. “We’re going to unleash the creative spirit and energy of all Americans”, Trump Jr had said in his convention speech.

On the second day, it was Clinton’s husband, former US president Bill Clinton, who took centre stage, and who sought to portray his wife as a person, not a politician. That is the only way we can turn our progressive platform into real change for America.

“I’ve had a attractive, I’ve had a flawless campaign”, he said. ‘He wants to divide us from the rest of the world and from each other, ‘ she said. “It was so exciting but I have to tell you it was also kind of overwhelming”.

Clinton’s bus tour includes a factory stop at toy manufacturer K’NEX in Hatfield, Pennsylvania, whose product line includes engineering sets targeted at girls.

Trump will be busy Friday as he holds a town hall in Colorado Springs at 4 p.m. ET. and a rally in nearby Denver at 9 p.m.

“She told me how badly she wanted to go to school – it just didn’t seem possible”.

But the heart of the speech was an argument for unity and inclusion, and the emotional climax of the night was a searing attack on Trump by the father of a Muslim US Army captain who died in Iraq trying to stop a truck bomb, saving other members of his unit.

She said that she, like many, thought “he couldn’t possibly mean all the terrible things he says” and that “someone who wants to lead our nation could say those things, could be like that”.

“It’s not so much that I’m on the ticket, it’s because of the stark choice that’s posed to Americans in this election”, she said.

“We are clear-eyed about what our country is up against”.

He said Clinton “cannot even say the words” radical Islam, while accusing her in another tweet of “unleashing destruction, terrorism and ISIS across the world”.

“He’s taken the Republican Party a long way, from “Morning in America” to ‘Midnight in America, ‘” Clinton said.
