Clinton mocks Trump’s commitment to putting ‘America First’

“It is with humility, determination, and boundless confidence in America’s promise I accept your nomination for the president of the United States”, Clinton told the crowd as she officially became the first woman to lead a major political party’s ticket. “You have to keep working to make things better, even when the odds are long and the opposition is fierce”.

Mr Trump has his eyes on the old rust belt of the industrial mid-west, from Pennsylvania to Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Clinton is the first woman to be nominated for President and used her acceptance speech to square up against her Republican opponent in the race for the White House, accusing Trump of using divisive rhetoric to strike fear into Americans. She’s in the position of praising President Obama’s tenure – which must be seen positively for her to succeed – but also acknowledging its shortcomings. But in Hillary Clinton’s America, millions of people are left out in the cold. Several male Fox pundits and New York Times columnist David Brooks commented on the Democratic presidential nominee’s “annoying vocal inflection” and “combative manner”. Three of Donald Trump’s children spoke at the Republican convention, including his introduction by Ivanka, and as everyone acknowledged, they performed magnificently. Its goal was ostensibly to give viewers a better feel for Clinton as a person – as she said in her subsequent speech, “The truth is, through all these years of public service, the “service” part has always come easier to me than the “public” part”.

Mrs Clinton said her presidential nomination was a milestone on America’s “march toward a more flawless union”. “Not because we resent success”. “Hillary’s passion is kids and families”. That is the only way we can turn our progressive platform into real change for America. “And we’ll put that money to work where it belongs – creating jobs here at home!” she warned.
