Why Hillary Clinton’s DNC speech was ‘a moon landing’ for women
While her speech was not as electrifying as those given by US President Barack Obama and some other prominent Democrats at the Philadelphia convention, Clinton was authoritative and self-assured in her pitch to the public. While Clinton and Kaine are teaming up on the campaign trail after their convention, Trump and Pence are splitting up to cover more ground.

Trump defended himself in an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos and blasted Clinton as dishonest and weak.
Her plan also demands state financial participation.
“He also talks a big game about putting “America First, ‘ ” Clinton said”.
“In America, women have just as much rights as men, but they don’t feel they have it”, said Myzell Amaro, 13.
“I’ve heard you. Your cause is our cause”, she said, acknowledging the concerns raised by supporters of Bernie Sanders in the primaries campaign, but she rejected the climate of fear and pessimism that fuels her Republican rival Donald Trump’s campaign. “She has to show she is warm, compassionate and trustworthy”.
Democrats contrasted their optimistic, policy-laden message with the darker vision and less specific platform that marked Trump’s turn during the Republican convention a week earlier.
Although Trump has been a proven ratings draw throughout his campaign, the Democratic convention had proven more popular with viewers than the Republicans for its first three nights. She said she identifies with him because she sees both Sanders and herself as political “outsiders”.
“Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it”, Trump said.
There is a perception in Russia that the Clinton campaign is raising the Russian hacking issue to draw attention away from the content of the leaked emails, some of which showed the DNC supporting Clinton over her rival for the nomination, Bernie Sanders.
“She is incredibly smart”. Bill Clinton did not speak at the event. Donald Trump’s not offering real change.
The mood was very different in Phaldelphia, where still glowing from Clinton’s historic ascent on Thursday night, thousands of people who came to see the Democratic ticket at a gymnasium at Temple University’s McGonigle Hall roared with excitement when the candidate walked onto the stage with running mate Tim Kaine.
GOP vice presidential nominee Mike Pence was hitting OH on Friday, while Trump was hitting the Colorado battleground. Clinton is focused more on closing the inequality gap, pledging to raise taxes on the rich and large corporations while more than doubling the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour. “It’s a guiding principle for the country we’ve always been and the future we’re going to build”, she said. We have to look out for each other and lift each other up.
And she didn’t seem to mind that one bit. Happy for boys and men because when any barrier falls in America, it clears the way for everyone. Trump used the line in the midst of a response to a question from Maria Bartiromo during a Fox Business Network debate, when asked about South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley’s reference to Trump as one of “the angriest voices”. “That’s why “Stronger Together” is not just a lesson from our history. They’re angry. He was angry”, Trump said.
She acknowledged some people still do not know her well.

“So numerous people who should be their (Democrats’) core constituencies, young people, African-Americans, Latinos don’t vote in as large number as Republicans”, Kazin notes.
