Clinton’s campaign is distancing itself for the DNC and Wasserman Schultz.

Wasserman Schultz announced Sunday that she will resign at the end of the convention. CNN’s reporting relied on anonymous sources – but no one from the party disputed them.
Rep. Marcia Fudge has been named permanent chair of the convention and Donna Brazile will serve as interim chair of the committee. Miranda told Wasserman Schultz that since she had already reached out to Todd, he would hold off on calling Griffin.
Major Democratic donor John Morgan, who has been outspoken in his criticism of Wasserman Schultz, said he was shocked that the congresswoman was insisting on speaking to delegates this week.
“No offense to gay men in the room, but just like in the straight community, where women sometimes have been left behind and men have vaulted ahead on the leadership track, my message was it’s time for lesbians to step up”, Wasserman Schultz said at the time. Wasserman Schultz might have expected a warm embrace at the breakfast of the Florida delegation to the Democratic National Convention. She later said she regretted the analogy. Another email showed a high-level DNC staffer suggesting that Sanders’ religious beliefs be used against him. Activists jeered and waved signs reading “Thanks for the ‘help, ‘ Debbie”.
Sanders supporters are looking for a public apology, but that’s not really in Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s political DNA. One week later, Brzezinski doubled down, saying “my contention all along has been that [Wasserman Schultz] has been in the tank for Hillary from the get-go, and it’s been quite obvious”. Progressives across the country were coalescing behind her 2016 primary opponent, Tom Canova, who raised more than $1 million for an upcoming August primary.
Then came the explosive release of more than 20,000 Democratic National Committee emails – apparently obtained by Russian hackers – through the website WikiLeaks. Some of the emails show DNC staffers discussing ways to weaken Mr. Sanders’s campaign.
Later they will hear from Bernie Sanders, before the Vermont Senator addresses the national convention Monday night. “I was highly offended by that”, Rendell said. “But aside from all of that, it is an outrage and sad that you would have people in important positions in the DNC trying to undermine my campaign”. The DNC does not – and will not – tolerate disrespectful language exhibited toward our candidates. This was a couple of months ago and only last about a week.
First, the party’s national convention begins on Monday, and it will now occur with a sense of controversy hanging over it. Assemblyman Phil Steck is from the Albany area and one of the few elected officials supporting Sanders.
Michael Briggs, a Sanders spokesman, had no comment Friday. Presumptive nominee Clinton successfully presented Tim Kaine as her running mate at a massive Miami rally. Wasserman Schultz denied the accusation, but was forced out as chief Sunday. I wouldn’t be too confident in those predictions that a Clinton blowout of Donald Trump is in the offing. Two separate Russian intelligence-linked cyberattack groups were both in the DNC’s networks.
