Harry Potter fever as new book goes on sale at midnight tomorrow

Harry Potter & The Cursed Child (Parts 1 & 2) is a play as well as a story bound in book form, and it is released globally this weekend.

Being one of the first people to get your hands on the newest Harry Potter book used to mean setting up camp outside a bookstore. The book will be released are revving up for midnight release parties where there will be games, quizzes, cauldron cakes and Butterbeer.

“And there’s a lot of originality in the “Harry Potter” stories: The way to get to Hogwarts, all of the different ideas about how to cast spells, children being the individuals who are responsible for saving adults – all of that is setting a standard for saying, ‘I want to do something new'”.

With over 100,000 copies preordered, Waterstones’ buying Director Kate SKipper told The Guardian, this is expected to be “the biggest launch since Harry Potter seven”.

According to a survey conducted by Crossword Bookstores, the lightning scar on the forehead of Harry Potter has been found to be the most recognisable mark of the character from the novel, in India. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End tomorrow but preview performances have already been hailed as a huge hit.

When the announcement of the literary release was made, Rowling rushed to clarify that it is a script of stage production and not a novel. However, it is seen as the eighth part of the adventures of the magician.

“It is event theater in the truest sense”, said theater commentator Terri Paddock, who co-founded stage website MyTheatreMates.

Harry Potter fans will be hoping to catch a glimpse of stars such as JK Rowling at the opening gala of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child.

Amazon also reported record-breaking pre-order numbers for “Cursed Child”, affirming that it could be the most important book of the year.

“When families come up it’s kind of incredible to have these parents say to their eight-year-old children, ‘When your mom read this we had so much fun and we’re going to start reading them again, ‘ ” said Allison Currie, manager of the children’s section.
