New STAR WARS The Force Awakens First Order Shot
We’re just over four months before the premiere of “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens“, and every bit of footage that we are teased with just builds our excitement. Gwendoline Christie’s Captain Phasma is also clearly visible facing the assembled troops beneath her chrome stormtrooper armor, along with a figure who could be Domhnall Gleeson’s General Hux. These three baddies are the top dogs of the First Order, which is the sinister governmental body that rose to power after the fall of the Empire. The movie marathon lands inbetween Secret Cinema’s screenings of The Empire Strikes Back in London and precedes the launch of a new Star Wars film that might actually be good. Finally, Jason Fry, who is writing a lot of Star Wars stuff at the moment, has a new short story about an Imperial Admiral during the Battle of Endor. Although the 30-second spot primarily features footage seen in the previous two trailers, it does provide us immediately with a new angle on a scene we were aware of.
Setting the King of Monsters to one side for the time being, Gareth Edwards is behind the camera for Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One, and his standalone is due to hit theaters on December 16, 2016. Don’t worry, English speaking Star Wars fans. In fact, after the Emperor’s death is when some of the most dramatic, important events of the Star Wars universe take place.
