China-Pakistan agreements signed amid worsening India ties
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif while talking to a delegation of Chinese investors and industrialists in Qingdao said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has ushered in new era of friendship between the two countries and that this cooperation will leave a positive impact on the entire region. He saw various sections of the economic development zone and took special interest in service center under one window operation and global pavilion. “Punjab is an ideal place for investment and the Chinese investors should keep in mind that load shedding would end by next year and abundant electricity would be available for industry”, he added.

He said that he was deeply impressed with the modern facilities available in Jimo for textile and garments sector, and the same model will be replicated in Punjab. He said industrial growth would help create jobs for the unemployed youth.
Addressing Chinese garments sector investors, Sharif said Chinese garments were very popular in the world.
“Work on these agreements will be completed speedily”, he added.
The minister also assured Chinese investors that they would be provided with the best facilities for a program of shifting novel technologies to Pakistan. He added that Punjab government has taken splendid and impressive measures for facilitating Chinese investors, therefore, their number is rapidly increasing in the province. Shahbaz also visited textile and garments industries in Jimo City.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore soon after his arrival from Beijing after a five-day visit to China, the chief minister said he held useful meetings with the Chinese leadership, leaders of Communist Party and investors during the visit. He said his visit to China has been more successful than his expectations. A joint working group will also be set up to explore possibilities of promotion of cooperation between Punjab and Qingdao in different sectors. Chinese Consul General Yu Boren, Chief Secretary beside senior officers were present at the airport.

Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, Pakistan’s largest province, presided over the conference alongside the Vice Governor of Shandong province, Ji Xiang Qui.
