Instead of starting camp in normal fashion, with physical conditioning testing, Saints coach Sean Payton put his players to good use, allowing them to volunteer building a park and helping homeowners demolish and/or rebuild some of their flood-damaged homes. Right now the team is supposedly trying to re-sign Drew Brees to a longer contract to take down the $30 million cap number he has. We were just about to conclude on all that, and then I don’t know exactly what happened and everything, but we just drifted away from the heat of the moment to get it done, get it finalized and get the extension in place.
