Hillary Clinton takes stage at Democratic Convention after daughter Chelsea’s emotional introduction
One of Hillary Clinton’s biggest problems when she took to the stage last night was who had come before her: Barack Obama gave a belting speech at the Democrat convention, which Freddy Gray said was like a band playing back some of their old hits. Both candidates suffer from negative perceptions among voters, as revealed by multiple polls during the past year.

Afterward, Chelsea returned to proudly introduce “my mother, my hero, and our next president, Hillary Clinton”. “A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons”. We have to decide whether we’re going to work together so we can all rise together.
That’s a pretty fair summary of Donald Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention.
Sanders’ supporters threatened a mass protest during Clinton’s remarks and while there were isolated protests and boos, much of the crowd was enthralled by her speech.
She told the convention she had met many people who motivated her to fight for change, including sick children and survivors of 9/11. “We all need to get out and vote for Democrats up and down the ticket, and then hold them accountable until they get the job done”.
During a briefing on Thursday, Clinton’s communications director, Jennifer Palmieri, revealed that the former secretary of state’s speech will focus on people seeing “the woman, the full three-dimensional person that she is”. We can not solve-we can not solve our problems by building walls, sowing division.
Biden, who made a wrenching decision not to run for president, fired up delegates with a searing attack on Trump. In this document, look for the words “liberty” and ‘equal protection of law, ‘ ” said the father of a Muslim-American soldier killed in Iraq War. It was the strongest connection I’d ever heard him make with her. “He (Trump) is not really a plans guy”.
“I believe that when we have millions of hardworking immigrants contributing to our economy, it would be self-defeating and inhumane to kick them out”, she said thus vehemently opposing the move of the rival Trump campaign to deport illegal immigrants.
Clinton’s main opponent in the general election is Republican Party nominee Donald Trump.
Another South Asian element in her speech was a tribute to Army Captain Humayun Khan, a 27-year-old Pakistani-American army man killed in 2004 in Iraq trying to save his soldiers from a vehicle bomb.
Now that his term is winding down, with African-American voters facing a nonchoice and a nonstarter, it’s been hard for some to get excited about this presidential race.

Kondik said the presidential campaign could go into a lull in the month of August following the months of primary votes and this month’s conventions.
