Terry McAuliffe: Clinton Will Flip-Flop on TPP
The Trans-Pacific Partnership is a proposed trade agreement among 12 countries: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United States and Vietnam. Clinton once voiced support for the TPP but came out against it in 2015, saying it needs significant changes.

It has become a key fault line within the party at this convention.
U.S. President Barack Obama wants the TPP passed this year.
That drew national attention because McAuliffe is a longtime friend of Bill and Hillary Clinton and served as chairman of her 2008 bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. That led a anxious campaign manager on Wednesday to clear up any misunderstandings: “She doesn’t support TPP now, she’s not going to support TPP after the election”.
On Monday, at the Democratic National Convention, a sea of anti-TPP signs were held by delegates on the floor, and some chanted “no TPP!”.
The Clinton team did its best to refute McAuliffe, reiterating that Clinton is firmly opposed to the trade deal.
Wisconsin, with its large manufacturing base, is a state in which trade issues resonate.
Now, as a candidate for president, she has abandoned it. She knows it’s bad politics.
And this issue is one that has been a big one for Bernie Sanders on the campaign trail.
The final DNC platform does not include opposition to TPP – a fact which has caused a number of Democratic voters to stage protests.
Matthew LaRonge is a Sanders delegate from Stevens Point who said he has worked on behalf of Buchholz.
And with $18-billion dollars in goods exported to the countries in the TPP, Pritzker said American businesses will have greater access to the Asian-Pacific market.
“We’re against TPP before the election and after the election”, Podesta said at a Wall Street Journal lunch on Tuesday.
“But Senator, correct me if I’m wrong, just last week you said about it quote “I see much in it to like” and you called it an upgrade of environmental and labor standards”, she said. The deal forms a cornerstone of Obama’s attempt to increase USA influence in Asia as a counterweight to China. Obama has worked tirelessly negotiating and then advocating for the agreement. The more we sell overseas, the more jobs we create at home.
“But when most people think of the adverse effects of trade, they think about those countries”.
Kind has consistently said that the TPP must be considered in light of the status quo.
Meanwhile Walsh, a union bookmaker, was asked if he’ll vote for Clinton in November.

Clinton, who once supported the proposal, tried to muffle that outcry during the primary season by reversing her support, in a rare break with the Obama administration. She has since walked back her praise.
