Obama and Bloomberg and Biden, oh my! Twitter reacts to DNC heavyweights
The former secretary of state, her hand on her heart, received ecstatic cheers from thousands of delegates as she strode into the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia and then pledged to be a president for “all Americans”.

Barack Obama’s political career began on August 18, 2004, when, at that year’s Democratic National Convention, he bellowed for the country to believe in itself and unite – the red states, the blue states, liberal America, conservative America, black America, white America. “She knows what’s at stake in the decisions our government makes for the working family, the senior citizen, the small business owner, the soldier, and the veteran”, the Guardian quoted Obama as saying. Tim Kaine and their spouses, will focus on economic opportunity, diversity and national security, themes hammered home this week by an array of politicians, celebrities, gun-violence victims, law enforcement officers, and activists of all sexualities and races.
She accused Trump of transporting the Republican Party from Ronald Reagan’s “morning in America” to the prospect of “midnight in America”, and issued a pledge not to let fear win out in November.
Clinton’s speech “was such a contrast with what we saw in Cleveland last week”, Kaine told CNN’s “New Day” Friday, referring to the GOP convention. And you don’t even have to trust her if you don’t want. “I love the man”, he said. She is the author of Dating Jesus: Fundamentalism, Feminism and the American Girl and the upcoming Searching for The American Dream in Frog Hollow.
“I have been for the Hyde Amendment”.
Don’t worry, they say, everyone loves Hillary. The question was whether it is responsible for you – a person who wants to be president – to promote Russian hacking.
“Democrats proudly embracing Hillary Clinton will have to explain to voters why they continue to stand by her record of scandals and dishonesty”. “It won’t be easy or quick, but make no mistake we will prevail”, Clinton said. She’s said the wrong thing. “We have to decide whether we’re going to work together so we can all rise together”. She acknowledged as much when she said, “The truth is, through all these years of public service, the service part has always come easier to me than the public part”. “He’s betting that the perils of today’s world will blind us to its unlimited promise. God help us”, Bloomberg said.
Becca Burnett, 35, said Obama and Clinton would be the only presidents her young children would know.
Declaring that the U.S. is at a “moment of reckoning”, Clinton had yesterday attacked Trump for his “bigotry and bombast” while pitching herself to be a steady leader, as she scripted history by becoming the first woman presidential nominee. She challenged Trump and his declaration that he alone can fix it. Her Democratic agenda will include jobs, climate change, women’s rights, and those of the LGBTQ community and people with disabilities “America is great, America is good”, she declared, and we can “build a better future”. “We will work with all Americans and our allies to fight and defeat terrorism”.
While Clinton must play to the party’s base – and seek to soothe bruised Bernie Sanders supporters – a key mission was to appeal to crossover voters and independents wary of Trump.

“As I’ve traveled this country, through all fifty states; as I’ve rejoiced with you and mourned with you, what I’ve also seen, more than anything, is what is right with America”, Obama will say.
