In further comments when addressing the wider media, Wenger even admitted surprise at just how quickly the former Championship player has been able to get used to his new surroundings.

The teams played even for a good part of the match until Chuba Akpom scored the late victor in the 87th minute for Arsenal, of the English Premier League. The challenge on Acosta, which sent the FC Dallas defender off the field for treatment, particularly drew the scorn of MLS All-Star head coach Dominic Kinnear in his postgame press conference. “He’s a big, strong player out there as well”.

“When I was a kid we always used to hear about the All-Stars, obviously with basketball, and to actually be involved in an All-Star match against America’s best is great to be part of, to be honest”. He’s made a good splash into MLS.

“For me it’s for fun because I scored against [former Chelsea, now Arsenal goalkeeper] Petr [Cech], but the result matters more than my goal or my own performance”.

Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has many football records to his name but one of the most famous is how often he has managed to score against Arsenal.

It may be time for Cech to get a new phone number because Drogba relentlessly pursued the ball to score in extra time of the first half, equalizing for the All-Stars.

Arsenal’s Petr Cech saves.

Just as Arsenal appeared to be taking a 1-0 lead into halftime, a wild scramble occurred during stoppage time with the All-Stars finding the equalizer.

Though his playing days at Stamford Bridge are well behind him, Montreal Impact striker Didier Drogba still hates losing to the Gunners.

Wenger has been frightened by the money being spent on players recently, saying: “I personally believe that no matter what you do, it’s never enough”. Midway through the half Farrell unleashed the trademark of his backline teammate Jose Goncalves, shielding an Arsenal attacker, likely American youth global Gideon Zelalem, off the ball for a goal kick.

Campbell converted the penalty kick with his left-footed shot to the left of a diving Andre Blake of the Philadelphia Union.

After defeating Tottenham Hotspur of the EPL and German giant Bayern Munich the previous two years, the All-Stars lost their mojo against Arsenal, the famous English team that is the topic of Nick Hornby’s best-selling autobiography.

Didier Drogba remains a risky player who continues to haunt Arsenal, Arsene Wenger said after the 38-year-old scored against the Gunners yet again.

“Overall, it was less aggressive”, Wenger said. “These players come for a show, they’re happy to be together”.
