Hillary Clinton blew it with that convention speech

Clinton, 68, will lay out her campaign message to Americans as she accepts the nomination to run against Republican Donald Trump in the November 8 election.

“I think I have a great temperament, I have a temperament where I know how to win”, Trump said.

She has offered an historic jobs program and investment in infrastructure in the first 100 days of her presidency.

Election forecasts like 538 and the New York Times show Clinton leading Trump in the polls, but according to the Now-cast on 538, it is still a tight race. “The family I’m from, well no one had their name on big buildings”, Clinton said in a reference to Trump.

Trump also said divisions still linger within the Democratic Party even after a convention that saw Clinton and her primary contender Sen. “Don’t let anyone tell you we don’t have what it takes”.

Clinton will speak of the strains that have been placed on U.S. society during the toxic year-long campaign that has featured heated rhetoric from Trump and other candidates.

For them, the chance to elect the first female president to succeed the first black president was a sign of significant progress for the country.

“Americans don’t say: ‘I alone can fix it, ‘” Clinton said. “Powerful forces are threatening to pull us apart”, said Clinton, a former secretary of state.

But the Democrats’ gathering in Philadelphia turned out to be higher-rated than the Republican convention in Cleveland through Wednesday. For those who vote for me and those who don’t.

But addressing her image of putting policy above politics, Mrs Clinton was unrepentant.

But I believe a majority of Americans still want to support the candidate who wants to bring us together. There is no other Donald Trump.

When he mentioned Clinton’s use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state and why the Federal Bureau of Investigation chose not to prosecute her because of the way she’d handled classified information, the crowd began chanting “Lock her up”, suggesting Clinton should be jailed. “I will gladly lend you my copy”.

“We are clear-eyed about what our country is up against”. Feel free to scoff at the use of melodramatic imagery in an election speech, but it’s just this kind of emotional triggering that works with voters and always has. “Donald Trump’s not offering real change; he’s offering empty promises”.

But Mrs Clinton sought to reach beyond the Democratic base, particularly to moderate Republicans unnerved by Mr Trump. But the Clinton team is playing it way too safe to realize this.

“What Hillary is going to do tonight, what we’ve done at this convention is make sure that people know the facts”.

Hillary Clinton has accepted the Democratic Party’s White House nomination, casting herself as a tireless champion of the people and rejecting Donald Trump’s dark picture of the US. “Hillary Clinton is the Democrats’ most scandal-plagued and dishonest nominee in their party’s history”, said NCGOP Chairman Robin Hayes.
