Hillary Clinton makes plea for tolerance and unity
When she accepted the Democratic presidential nomination last night, one of the key points that Hillary Clinton made in her case against her Republican opponent, Donald Trump, is that the billionaire former reality television is too thin-skinned for the job.

It was the culmination of a theme that persisted throughout the convention this week: rather than pine for someone warmer or more charismatic, the Clinton campaign has chose to be proud of the candidate it has.
“I want you to know, I’ve heard you”, Clinton said to supporters.
“It’s not so much that I’m on the ticket, it’s because of the stark choice that’s posed to Americans in this election”, she said.
Throughout her political career, the people who have worked with her have struggled to understand why the American public has such ambivalent feelings about a woman they believe to be personable, engaging, and intelligent. “Her refusal to even say the words “Radical Islam”, or to mention her disaster in Libya, or her corrupt email scheme, all show how little she cares about the safety of the American people”.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that every election is important in its own way”, she said. “From my first day in office to my last!” Trump’s presence in the debates created record-breaking numbers for television networks.
Leonard and Chambers are among five delegates from Fort Wayne – three who supported Vermont Sen.
“In my first 100 days, we will work with both parties to pass the biggest investment in new, good-paying jobs since World War II”.
“I will be a president for Democrats, Republicans, and independents”, she added.
A second video shot shows Bill and Chelsea Clinton, only one of whom has her eyes open.
“I will carry all of your voices and stories with me to the White House”, she said.
Remarking on Donald Trump’s reliance on fear, Hillary Clinton quoted President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s famous fear quote that he gave during the throes of the Great Depression. So let me tell you.
Clinton also spoke at length about her plans for the country, saying issues affecting average Americans most are stagnant wages and the lack of upward mobility. However, one Gallup poll found her to be the country’s most admired woman.
When he mentioned Clinton’s use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state and why the Federal Bureau of Investigation chose not to prosecute her because of the way she’d handled classified information, the crowd began chanting “Lock her up”, suggesting Clinton should be jailed.
“He’s taken the Republican Party a long way, from Morning in America to Midnight in America”, she said with a nod to the Reagan campaign slogan of 1984 as chants of “Hillary, Hillary” broke out repeatedly throughout her primetime speech. “Donald Trump consistently smears the character of Muslims”, he said.

But while Obama’s speech was upbeat and optimistic on the surface, that he “went so far in criticising Trump shows how deeply anxious he is that the billionaire might actually win”, Andrew Prokop writes for Vox.
