Earlier, describing Kashmir as “unfinished agenda” of the United Nations, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif vowed to raise the issue at every worldwide platform and provide all sort of support to Kashmiris.
Only then would it be possible to have some peace in Kashmir, he asserted. When PM Nawaz can say that Pakistan will take Kashmir at any cost then why PM Modi cannot say that India will take Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
Election posters were blackened in Neelam Valley by people agitated over rigged PoK polls.
I don’t think that Pakistan’s internal political condition is that stable so as to allow any leader to ensure cordial relationship between India and Pakistan, Pakistan’s former ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani said. But as of now, it doesn’t seem to be happening. “As far as terrorists and people like Hafiz Saeed are concerned, I believe that they can only increase hatred and cannot increase Pakistan’s prosperity and happiness”, Haqqani said.
According to sources in home ministry, Singh is expected to bluntly ask Pakistan to stop sponsoring acts of terror in India and also raise the issue of slow pace of probe into the Pathankot airbase terror attack, which was carried out by Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad, and the trial into the Mumbai terror attack case in that country.
On Afghan refugees, he said it is a complex issue and we are in close contact with the Government of Pakistan in this regard.
Haqqani reacted strongly to Aziz’s “allegations”, saying he was not lobbying against Pakistan’s interests. Swarup had on Thursday also clearly said that the Home Minister was going for a multilateral SAARC event and there will not be any bilateral meeting.
