Libertarian Johnson won’t fight Green Party’s Stein for Sanders’ voters
Attendees angry with the Democratic Party shouted “Jill not Hill”, “No fracking way” (in opposition to fracking) and “Hell no, DNC, we won’t vote for Hillary”.

The California Green Party says it doesn’t expect to be able to do an official voter registration comparison until August, but estimate it’s received five times as many inquiries about the party as normal.
“It’s not a given that people are going to hold their nose and cast a vote for Hillary”, said Donna Smith, a Sanders supporter who’s the executive director of Progressive Democrats for America.
“With regard to Israel, the United States has encouraged the worst tendencies of the Israeli government as it pursues policies of occupation, apartheid, assassination, illegal settlements, demolitions, blockades, building of nuclear bombs, indefinite detention, collective punishment, and defiance of global law”, a position paper on her foreign policy reads.
At one of the many protests outside City Hall this week, Leisa Duncker sat in the blazing sun with a black Sharpie marker writing “Election Fraud” across her blue “Bernie Sanders” signs. To participate in the debates, candidates need “support of at least 15 percent of the national electorate as determined by five selected national public opinion polling organizations, using the average of those organizations’ most recently publicly reported results at the time of the determination”.
Bloomfield cited Sanders’ plans to campaign for like-minded candidates throughout the fall, and form a group to support progressive causes and politicians across the country.
“Both of those two choices are very, very unappealing to me”, said Karen Symnbstvebt from Philadelphia, a Sanders supporter who has already changed her voter registration to the Green Party. It’s completely unacceptable and unjust that a war hawk in the United States should be inflicting a militaristic policy on Israel. Specifically, he said that Sanders’ past support of increased military funding, drone warfare and Israel in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are serious differences. And unlike President Barack Obama, Stein would not allow Israel to receive US military aid while ignoring American calls for a peace deal. “Trump is such a clear and present danger to the republic that we’ve got to get behind the candidate who gives us the best chance of defeating Trump”. We are going to stand up to Donald Trump and to stand up to Hillary Clinton!
Addressing the critique that her campaign could actually help elect Donald Trump by taking votes from Clinton, Stein rejected the idea and instead put the blame on Clinton. We have all become the targets here; injustice anywhere has become a real justice everywhere. In tweets, she has accused Israel of “the pillage of Palestine” and written that Israel’s “war crimes & human rights violations are off the charts”.
Wiping back tears, Los Angelean Lillian Wilkinson spoke about her lasting allegiance to Sanders – and new interest in Stein – after an emotionally turbulent week. 171 of 375 respondents said they meant to support Stein, more than double the number who said they would back Clinton.
Ernie Legg, 28, who traveled to the DNC from Rochester, N.Y., said Stein might be his only option.
She’s been active in environmental health and peace issues. “We’ve been telling them”. “You’re being ridiculous”, she said to holdouts. We haven’t finished our own convention. “We’re done, we’re super done”, she said. “This is upon the people of Israel and Palestine, on the basis of human rights, to continue building confidence and find the way out of this”.
“Secretary Clinton has to get up there, she has to make the case, and she has to say over and over again how she’s going to embrace numerous items on his agenda, and how she’s going to do different things than people may be expecting”, Pingree said.

“We are watching the unraveling of politics as we know it, which creates tremendous opportunities”, she says.
