Pakistan wobbling as James Anderson strikes for England
The third Investec Test starts at Edgbaston on August 3; the fourth at The Oval on August 11.

James Anderson marked his return to worldwide duty with three wickets as England beat Pakistan by a massive 330 runs to win the second Test at Old Trafford on Day 4 of the game on Monday (July 25).
Earlier, Cook and Joe Root smashed unbeaten half centuries as England blazed 75 runs in 40 minutes before declaring at 173-1.
Confirmation of a calf tear nearly certainly rules Stokes out of the rest of the Test series, although England have indicated he will be reviewed by the medical team in Birmingham on Monday.
Stokes, making his first appearance after undergoing a knee surgery in May, sustained a calf injury in England’s series-levelling win against Pakistan at Old Trafford in the second T est.
Joe Root and Cook picked-up where they left off on Sunday evening, adding quick runs to set up a would-be world record chase for Pakistan.
It was a more significant setback for England when Stokes limped out of the attack, but they soon had two more wickets to celebrate – both from Moeen.
It contains, as expected, Watford-born Finn and Jake Ball as pace-bowling cover for Stokes – with Adil Rashid as a second spin option, along with the remainder of the winning team in Manchester. Gary Ballance’s return to Test cricket has resulted in scores of 6, 43 and 23, while Alex Hales has struggled against Pakistan’s new-ball bowlers.
Captain Misbah-ul-Haq and Wahab Riaz defiantly added 60 for the ninth wicket before Misbah was caught by Alastair Cook at short fine leg off Moeen Ali for 52 and Riaz was last man out for 39.
Root was in even more of a hurry, pulling Rahat for successive fours in an over which cost 14 as the Yorkshireman raced past 300 runs in the match.
England have opted against a like-for-like all-rounder replacement, with coach Trevor Bayliss happy with the performance of Chris Woakes in the opening two games.
“We could have scored around 400 in the first innings (instead of 198), the ball wasn’t doing anything much”.

“Ben will have an MRI scan and hopefully the scan will be a good one but he said he felt something go and it would be a big risk to play him at Edgbaston”.
