Hillary Clinton’s historic moment a breakthrough for all women

Those of us who still can’t conceive why anyone would vote for Trump after his Mussolini imitation in Cleveland probably aren’t the best judges of how this convention was received.

U.S. Senator Nancy Pelosi said, “This moment is about the landmark progress President Hillary Clinton will achieve for families everywhere yearning for a better life, a better chance, in a better America”.

“We will prevail”, she said.

An email hack on the Democratic National Committee before the convention showed that party officials showed favour to Mrs Clinton and tried to undermine Mr Sanders’ campaign, further painting Mrs Clinton as an insider politician.

Hillary Rodham Clinton accepted the presidential nomination at the Democratic Party National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The introduction, from Clinton’s daughter Chelsea Clinton, also touched on this fact but did so in a much more human way.

“He’s taken the Republican party a long way, from morning in America to midnight in America”.

“Hillary has real plans to address concerns she’s heard from you on the campaign trail”, Obama continued.

As Clinton continued about Trump, the crowd booed. “She spent the evening talking down to the American people she’s looked down on her whole life”.

Trump is also targeting OH and Pennsylvania as states where he can make headway with blue-collar white men.

The former Secretary of State offered an olive branch to supporters of former rival Bernie Sanders, telling them she had listened to their views. “I will always be profoundly grateful to all of you and to the American people for the last eight years”. Hillary Clinton has a vision rooted in deeply held values.

In her speech, Clinton points out, “Freedom and equality, justice and opportunity”. But he insisted, “We don’t have a single issue in this country that we can’t tackle”, and said job creation would be the top priority if Clinton wins the White House. She put forth an argument that Democrats and her presidency would be a boon for the American middle class.

Experts told USA Today Clinton, in her Thursday speech, should mention that if she wins, she would be in the White House on August 18, 2020 – the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution. She criticized Trump’s proposals including one to build a wall along the Mexico-US border and another to ban Muslims from entering the country.

Hillary Clinton declared her belief in science. “He wouldn’t know what the hell happened”, Trump said. Just think that less than 100 years ago, a woman was not even guaranteed the right to vote, and just think that a little over 50 years ago, an African-American woman, Fannie Lou Hamer, was not even permitted to be seated at our convention.
