Michael Bloomberg rips Trump as ‘a con,’ ‘a unsafe demagogue’
The independent delivered a withering speech that dismantled the case for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump based on his business acumen – one of the key factors behind Trump’s rise to presidential nominee. “God help us. I’m a New Yorker, and I know a con when I see one”.

Bloomberg, the CEO and owner of Bloomberg L.P., considered running for president in the 2016 election, but ended speculation after he concluded that his candidacy could tip the election in favor of Ted Cruz or Trump.
Asked to elaborate, Trump said, “I’ve created thousands and thousands of jobs, tens of thousands of jobs, built great structures”. “The bottom line is, Trump is a risky, reckless, radical choice, and we can’t afford to make that choice”.
Republican nominee Donald Trump lashed out at former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, but only referred to him as “a very little guy” rather than saying his name.
His primetime speech at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia was chock full of zingers, such as when he assailed Trump for his record of bankruptcies as a Manhattan real estate developer and chided him for eponymous products made overseas. He was a Democrat who switched party affiliation to Republican to run for mayor in 2001. “Hillary has some baggage, but Trump is insane”, said Sheekey, who was involved in Bloomberg’s decision.
Bloomberg, who endorsed Clinton earlier this week, specifically cited her work as a NY senator as proof.
Bloomberg, Trump added, “wouldn’t get 10% of the vote” if he ran for reelection as mayor.
“No matter what you may think about her politics or her record, Hilary Clinton understands that this is not reality television, this is reality”, Bloomberg said.
The Bloomberg camp dismissed the Trump bluster, pointing to previous comments praising Bloomberg’s mayoralty.
“I know that Hillary Clinton is not flawless-no candidate is”.
“I’d like to hear his wife say something”, Trump said about Ghazala Khan. “But Trump’s business plan is a disaster in the making”. Throughout Bloomberg’s time as mayor, he and Trump were cordial friends who often golfed together.

“I’ve been by Mike’s side for 19 years, and I’ve never met Donald Trump”, Bloomberg advisor Kevin Sheekey said. “And I know Hillary Clinton can do that – because I saw it firsthand”. “But she’s the right choice and responsible choice in this election”, he said.
