Cruz stole GOP show

Makes me wonder if Russian Federation was able to hack into the DNC computers and stay there for about one year – how long were they able to hack into and remain in that server in Hillary’s basement?

The speech provoked a raft of reactions both on and off the convention floor, with Cruz being excoriated by Trump supporters and lauded directly and indirectly by Democrats and Green Party candidate.

While information about Trump’s debts has been made public in personal financial disclosures filed with federal election regulators, the Democratic donors say access to his taxes might shed light on previously unknown business arrangements. Yet somehow, he has become the new “Teflon Don”.

Elmets will speak Thursday night before Hillary Clinton officially accepts the nomination. But instead of allowing him to have his moment, Trump walked out on stage before Pence’s family could join him, and gave Pence an air kiss, as if Pence were a contestant on his show. We will know more after Philadelphia and the Democrats. Just try to vote for the best person in November. The true test will come Friday when viewership for Clinton’s speech is announced, and the acutely ratings-conscious Trump will find out which candidate Americans were more interested in watching.

Don’t get it twisted, Cruz haters. He also showed Donald Trump that there are consequences for your actions, although that’s a lesson that I’m not sure will stick.

So what if some in the media, or the GOP, don’t like Cruz. In Riney’s calm and reassuring voice, the script began: “It’s morning again in America”. Those of us who have watched political campaigns over the decades have never seen anyone like Trump – not even Ronald Reagan, who understood the value of showmanship. The Democrats did not vote for Trump because they prefer supporting a billionaire, but because they like his positions on immigration and trade. Anti-police protests were leading to the shooting of officers.

Speaker Paul Ryan gave the most hopeful speech of the convention.

Gun ownership as well as abortion issues will unite the GOP regardless of who the presidential candidate is.

Obama’s speech comes at a time of turbulence for the Democratic Party, whose chairwoman stepped down Sunday under pressure over hacked emails. He spoke of a nation characterized by “violence in our streets and the chaos in our communities”. The address that I remember best is a celebrated one from the Republican convention in Dallas. At the 422 restaurant, the only place to eat on what local people say was once a bustling strip, I met a group of disillusioned Democrats. Per these CNN numbers, he’s already solved his second problem (at least as it relates to Hillary) and can solve his first by sticking to a disciplined economic message for the next two months and then preparing diligently for the debates. Then Bernie Sanders betrayed his supporters by backing down and bowing before Hilary and the Dem party. While this is not seemingly possible anymore, a prominent Republican leader failing to acknowledge that Trump is even a viable alternative to Clinton is HUGE! It belonged to the Republican Party, and that’s who Cruz was addressing. He offered Republicans a platform they could run on and a vision for the party.

He also pointed out what’s vividly on display this week at the Democrat convention: They are the party of identity politics, of division and aggression, of complaint, grievance and demand – not unity, opportunity and good will. And they specialize in hectoring everyone who will not join their “four-day infomercial of politically correct moralizing”.

It wouldn’t have been a Donald Trump event if there was no controversy, and this convention had plenty, starting with Melania Trump’s speech.

Mostly ignored is the split in the Democratic Party.

“Yes, I will probably do that at the appropriate time”, Trump said, though that is not his “No. 1” priority.
