The 20-year-old ended up returning a 75 for 214. “So I actually don’t know what the others are doing and don’t know where they are at”.

In early April at the ANA Inspiration in the California desert, Jutanugarn – at the time best known for a closing triple bogey to lose the 2013 LPGA Thailand championship – bogeyed the final three holes to hand the title to Lydia Ko.

“I really get nervous, especially being my first time leading”, Jutanugarn said that afternoon at Rancho Mirage.

“If I can get in there in contention on Sunday, I’m sure it will be a fantastic atmosphere; the crowd were great today”. She won three straight events in May.

She extended her bogey-free run to 33 holes with four birdies in an impressive outward nine of 32 and a controlled 34, picking up two further shots, coming back, saw her overtake South Korea’s Mirim Lee, who led after the first and second rounds.

HAYWARD, Calif. – Stephan Jaeger broke yet another Web.com Tour record Saturday in the Ellie Mae Classic and shot a 6-under 64 at TPC Stonebrae to increase his lead to seven strokes.

The South Korean followed up her opening 62 – which equalled the lowest round in the competition’s history – with three birdies and two bogeys yesterday.

“It’s fun, Webb said of her play this week”.

Ko went into the final fours holes of her second round even after mirroring two birdies with two bogeys. Catriona Matthew, at 46 trying to become the oldest major champion, had 71 to move into fourth at 10 under. “I had issues with my tee shot”. “I had a couple of three-putts too, but I think with some practice I can overcome my mistakes from today”. If Ariya plays like that she will be tough to catch but I will just try and make as many birdies as I can. “I didn’t hole as many putts later in the round and I’ll have to hole everything tomorrow to keep up with her”. “I feel like I’ve been close all year and my results really don’t show that at all”.

The top-ranked Ko was tied for 27th at 3 under after a 69.

The fast-playing Hull was put on the clock for slow play late in the round.
