DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to step down at end of convention
Another exposes the DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz calling Sanders’ campaign manager, Weaver a “damn liar”. And later the Democratic National Committee chairwoman confirmed she wouldn’t even gavel in the start of the convention this afternoon in Philadelphia.

Clinton also issued a statement saying Wasserman Schultz will serve as “honorary chair of my campaign’s 50-state program to gain ground and elect Democrats in every part of the country and will continue to serve as a surrogate for my campaign nationally, in Florida and in other key states”.
In Clinton’s words and the profusion of red, white and blue, several commentators noted how she had reached out to voters who might not normally consider a Democrat.
Bernie Sanders did lose the nomination by 3 million votes.
Shortly after Wasserman Schultz announced her move, President Barack Obama and the Clinton campaign released statements respectively to express their gratitude for the DNC chair’s work. “We will begin mass civil disobedience to bring our demand into the streets and the halls of the convention tomorrow”.
Donald Trump suggested Wednesday that Russian Federation or “any other country or person” also leak emails taken from Clinton’s personal server if they had them, sending off alarm bells among USA security experts and politicians who said his comments were an invitation to commit cyberattacks against a presidential candidate.
In an interview with CNN, Sanders, once again, called on Schultz to resign.
NEWSERS: Say what you will about Trump’s news conferences, at least he has them.
On Sunday, Wasserman Schultz announced she would step down as DNC chairwoman at the end of the party’s convention, after some of the 19,000 emails, presumably stolen from the DNC by hackers, were posted to the website Wikileaks.
“Her resignation opens up the possibility of new leaders at the top of the Democratic Party that will stand with working people”, he said.
Wasserman Schultz had planned to be among those taking the stage, despite the email hacking controversy.
She added in her comments to the newspaper: “This needs to be all about making sure that everyone knows that Hillary Clinton would make the best president”. Sanders is a relative newcomer to the Democratic party and the DNC, having long served as an independent in the Senate.
Liberal Sanders supporters pushed for changes to the party nominating process at a meeting of the party rules committee Saturday. “He is a very nice guy”, Sanders said on NBC’s Meet the Press.
Sanders will address the convention Monday night, and Obama will speak on Wednesday night.
Blowback to the emails came from all corners of the political world Sunday – including Clinton supporters and Donald Trump.
After the DNC released a slightly trimmed list of superdelegates – those are the party officials who can back any candidate – it now takes 2,382 delegates to formally clinch the nomination.
“It just validated everything we thought, everything we believed to be true, that this was completely rigged right from the beginning, and that you know it was really about what they were doing everything to set it up so she would win”, Sanders supporter Gwen Sperling said.
“I think she should resign, period”, the Vermont senator told ABC’s This Week.
“I was obviously shocked to see my name in the middle of all of this because I’m just an innocent bystander”, he said.

Comedian-turned-Sen. Al Franken, a Clinton supporter, and actress Sarah Silverman, a Sanders supporter, made a joint appearance to promote party unity. “It might [make] no difference, but for KY and WVA can we get someone to ask his belief”, the message says, presumably referring to Kentucky and West Virginia.
