In a shocking incident, a woman from Noida and her 14-year-old daughter were allegedly gangraped by a group of five men who had dragged them out of their vehicle near a highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district. They then dragged the woman and her elder daughter out and repeatedly raped the two victims for three hours. “A case has been lodged against unknown men under Sections 376 D (gang-rape), 397 (robbery or dacoity with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) and 395 (punishment for dacoity)”. Senior officials rushed to the spot and roped in the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force to probe the crime. When the vehicle stopped, about six gang members surrounded the vehicle and forced the family to walk about 50 metres away from the road. There, they took their valuables and assaulted the woman and her elder daughter. A few miscreants tried to rob the family and then did certain indecent things.

The police have detained 15 suspects and the main culprit has been identified, Vaibhav Krishan, SSP Bulandshahr said today.

Laxmi Singh, inspector general of police of the Meerut Range, too said: “We have important clues”. DIG Singh said the crime seemed to be the handiwork of a particular Rajasthan tribe.
