Arsene Wenger chased by Arsenal fans demanding him to sign Riyad Mahrez
The Sun claim Arsene Wenger has received a tip-off from his spies, who have identified the 27-year-old as a replacement for the injured Per Mertesacker.

Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal are still after a forward as well as a defender, while Lyon have rejected a £29.4m Gunners bid for striker Lacazette.
“I buy players that I feel can strengthen our team”.
However, Per Mertesacker’s injury, which will see the centre back miss several months, is likely to force Wenger to begin the search for another defender, with media reports touting Valencia’s Shkodran Mustafi as a possible target. Today you have to be very strong inside the club when you are responsible, not just to buy [for the sake of buying].
Arsene Wenger’s fueled talk of a move for Riyad Mahrez this summer by watching the Leicester City star in action in Los Angeles last night.
“There is always a wave of opinions, and people are better informed today than all the players”. [Be it] at the front or at the back – we are on the market. If you look at the market in Europe, there’s a lot of money available but not many players who really strengthen the teams. Unfortunately we are not alone.
“Leicester lost three games in the season, it is maybe not a glamorous name but it is not the name that wins you the Championship”.
They say that while football fans are nearly universally vocal about the transfer policies of their respective clubs, they ultimately have no influence over how the chequebook is used.

“I believe that we know what we have to do, because we were second a year ago, we had 18 teams behind us”.
