Clinton promises ‘clear-eyed’ vision, says Trump cannot be trusted

Pennsylvania has voted for the Democratic nominee in the past six presidential elections – going back to Bill Clinton’s first win in 1992.

Chelsea Clinton, Mrs Clinton’s daughter, will introduce her.

Clinton took the stage to roaring applause from flag-waving delegates.

“We’re going to be drawing that contrast between Hillary Clinton’s plans for our country and Donald Trump’s empty promises”, said Kaine.

– Some supporters of Bernie Sanders, about 150 of them on the floor, are wearing bright yellow shirts that say, “Enough is enough”. “Your cause is our cause”. Their occasional chants of protest were drowned out by Clinton supporters chanting, “Hillary!” “Now, let’s make it happen together”. She enthusiastically invited all of them aboard her campaign Thursday night. Instead, she offered a broad vision of helping all Americans with her specific ideas of how to do it. “It’s true”. Clinton asserted that Americans have to decide if they are willing to work together, in an effort to thrive together.

The vice presidential nominee said he was proud of how “upbeat positive” the Democrats’ convention was compared to the Republican one last week in Cleveland, which Kaine said was “a journey through Donald Trump’s mind – and that is a very frightening place”. “We will not build a wall”.

“I think we’ll stay here all night because I don’t really want to go home and watch that crap”, he said. Leonard said Green Party candidate Jill Stein “is great”, but she is reluctant to vote for her because “she has no chance of winning”.

Clinton further objected to Trump’s assertion that he alone can fix what’s wrong with the nation, noting that Americans solve problems together and invoking the phrase “it takes a village”, which is the title of a book she wrote. She then officially accepted the nomination for president of the United States.

The four-day Democratic convention in Philadelphia has been a parade of party heavyweights – and some independents – who have all stressed that the former first lady and United States senator is uniquely qualified to be commander-in-chief. Reporter: I don’t know if you can hear it but they’re still popping balloons.

“It’s the most personal moment on the campaign, talking to a big audience about what she wants to do for the future”, Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta said on a Facebook live stream.

“Through all these years of public service, the “service” part has always come easier to me than the “public” part”.

“People ask me all the time, how does she do it?”

Banks, with the support of some of her Hollywood friends, has produced her own version of Fight Song by Rachel Platten. That is the only way we can turn our progressive platform into real change for America.

She recalled her youth and how her family had grafted to make sure she had opportunities they had not, before explaining why her upbringing had inspired her attempts to improve education for disabled children.

“At first, I admit, I couldn’t believe he meant it either”, Clinton said.

Her high-stakes remarks follow a rousing speech by US President Barack Obama, who said there had never been a man or woman more qualified than Mrs Clinton to serve as president. Happy for boys and men too – because when any barrier falls in America, for anyone, it clears the way for everyone.

On Thursday, people familiar with the matter said the FBI is investigating a cyber attack against another Democratic Party group, which may be related to the earlier hack against the DNC.

Other speakers scheduled for the final night include House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and US Senator Sherrod Brown, who was once considered to be Mrs Clinton’s running mate.
