Powerball jackpot now $478 million, fifth largest Powerball of all time
Before the Powerball® jackpot rolled to a$478 million annuity value for Saturday, July 30, a winning Powerball ticket worth $1 million from the Wednesday, July 27, drawing was sold at Shop ‘N Save, 5001 Library Road, Bethel Park, Allegheny County.

The largest lottery prize offered in North America was awarded earlier this year, when three Powerball winners split a jackpot of almost $1.6 billion.
Over the years, Kansas players have captured 11 Powerball jackpots, 8 Lotto America jackpots, 1 Mega Millions jackpot and 7 Hot Lotto jackpots. And in January, the Island had a runner-up who won $50,000 in the Powerball drawing.
The three tickets matched four white balls and the Powerball.
A new app, called AutoLotto, is the first that will let people buy Powerball tickets on their smartphones.
Players should check every ticket, every time, and immediately sign winning tickets.

Federal taxes on the prize would be about $82.65 million and state taxes would be approximately $16.53 million.
The Powerball game is based on lottery tickets sold for $2 apiece. That’s the fifth largest Powerball prize of all time, and it’s number eight on the list of biggest lottery prizes in USA history.
