“Jason Bourne”: Here’s what critics are saying about movie

And Matt is so glad the movie’s director Paul Greengrass was able to sign up Alicia, 27, for a role in the film.

“I’m excited to finish out this year of work and take a year off and be at their behest for once”, Damon said when he stopped by the Today show to talk about his return as super-spy Jason Bourne after almost 10 years.

But with no after-credits scene in Jason Bourne, moviegoers can feel free to leave as soon as the credits start rolling and get a head start on the drive back home.

“Just as the initial Damon-driven trilogy wrapped up Bourne’s business but left us wanting more, this sequel offers closure even as it entices us with the possibility of his return”.

It all flashes by the screen with impressive verve – Greengrass is a true action ace – and it’s entirely possible to forget the regrettable fourth franchise film, “The Bourne Legacy” from 2012, made without the participation of Damon and Greengrass.

Just as it fails to justify its existence, “Jason Bourne” also doesn’t work as a smart thriller.

We didn’t need another Bourne movie, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t welcome.

With the new Jason Bourne movie in theaters, Matt Damon sits down for an interview about his return to the franchise.

The screenplay by Greengrass and Christopher Rouse (the editor on all the “Bourne” films) makes some stabs at political relevance. The character of Heather Lee (as portrayed by Alicia Vikander) leads the group that hunts Bourne. Bourne’s quest takes him into contact with both a Julian Assange-like super hacker (Vinzenz Kiefer) and a Mark Zuckerberg-like social media titan (Riz Ahmed).

But how hard was it for Damon to get back into top physical shape 14 years after the first film in the series? Since this new installment in the series is one of the better ones, it’s a good bet that Bourne’s memory issues will continue to wend their way through ever more punch-outs, sniper attacks, and skidding U-turns. It earned another $2.3 million at 2,538 locations Thursday, bringing the total to $6 million since Wednesday.

“It’s nearly impossible to plan getting together because you never know exactly where you’re going to be because new projects are constantly popping up and you’re often shooting in different parts of the world”.
