Arsene Wenger: Paul Pogba fee is insane
Arsenal have dipped into the transfer market this summer, signing Granit Xhaka, Takuma Asano and Rob Holding so far, as Wenger looks to bring in reinforcements across the board.

Whilst Arsene Wenger has gone about his transfer waiting game in typical fashion, the camp were hit with the devastating news that defender Per Mertesacker will be out for “months” with a knee injury.
Now, The Sun claim that Arsenal are keen on Swansea City’s Federico Fernandez, with Gunners scouts advising manager Wenger to make a move for the player.
“Lots of teams have strengthened their squads and many new coaches and good players have come to the league”. Today, you have to be very strong inside the club when you are responsible, not to just buy to buy. There’s always a wave of opinions. “People get to know each other, how to play together”.
But while Wenger is stunned by such a figure, he does believe United can “justify” the move if they can afford to spend that much.
“The global investment of the clubs around us didn’t stop Leicester winning the championship”, he added.
“[Be it] at the front or at the back – we are on the market. Unfortunately we are not alone”, he added.
They say that while football fans are nearly universally vocal about the transfer policies of their respective clubs, they ultimately have no influence over how the chequebook is used. We are on the market but I don’t want to talk specifically about any player because that makes it more hard for me – and it’s hard enough.
