US Election: Obama Promises to Stir Clinton to Victory

Hillary Clinton has chosen Tim Kaine as her vice presidential nominee, and the next 102 days will remain testimony to perseverence of the Democratic nominee. “And that’s why I can say with confidence there has never been a man or woman, not me, not (Bill Clinton), nobody, more qualified than Hillary Clinton to serve as president of the United States”.

Editor’s Note: American Reno Domenico, a delegate to the Democratic National Convention and president of the Ukrainian chapter of Democrats Abroad, is blogging about the convention for the Kyiv Post. The election is on November 8. “I ask you to carry her the same way you carried me”. “The America I know is decent and generous”, Obama will say, according to the excerpts. His 2004 address, where as a US Senate candidate he endorsed his current secretary of state John Kerry, catapulted him to national prominence.

He said: “My brother’s got this attitude, he’s the President of the United States…”

While his endorsement of Clinton was a shining moment, the best part of his speech was the scathing dig he took at Trump. The current vice president addressed the DNC crowd in Philadelphia on Wednesday with a rousing speech that endlessly bashed Donald Trump.

Obama gave a shout out to Sanders and his supporters _ and implored Democrats who disagreed with her on some issues to give her a chance.

A former first lady and USA senator, Clinton made history on Tuesday when she became the first woman to secure the presidential nomination of a major party.

He has fought against Republican presidential nominee Trump’s rhetoric on terrorism and Islam. A man who confuses bluster with strength, we simply can not let that happen as Americans. “America is already strong”, Obama said.

“Preach!” members of the crowd shouted.

And he spoke of a Texas conservative expressing his appreciation for the president because he tries “to be a good dad”.

Mr Obama listed what he described as a series of advances during his two terms in office, such as recovery from economic recession, the Obamacare healthcare reform and the 2011 killing of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. I know I’m called Middle Class Joe – and in Washington that’s not a compliment.

“That’s why anyone who threatens our values, whether fascists or communists or jihadists or homegrown demagogues, will always fail in the end”, Obama said.

By contrast, many prominent Republicans, alarmed by Trump’s provocative comments on illegal immigrants and Muslims, were absent from the party convention that nominated Trump for the White House in Cleveland last week. “She’ll finish the job – and she’ll do it without resorting to torture, or banning entire religions from entering our country”.

But Mr Trump got a boost in opinion polls from his convention. “I see a younger generation full of energy and new ideas, unconstrained by what is, and ready to seize what ought to be”.

“It is alarming that Leon Panetta would, through his silence, excuse Hillary Clinton’s enablement of foreign espionage with her illegal email scheme and her corrupt decision to then destroy those emails and dissemble her “private” server to hide her crimes from the public and authorities”, Trump senior policy adviser Stephen Miller said. Clinton has said those emails were private. It’s because there’s always been a growing middle class. This guy doesn’t have a clue about the middle class…

“I am a New Yorker, and I know a con when I see one”.
