Moreland, Harrell lead Rangers to 5-3 win over Royals

Rangers: Right-hander Lucas Harrell makes his Rangers debut, four days after being acquired from Atlanta along with reliever Dario Alvarez for a minor league infielder. The Rangers eye their sixth straight victory against the Royals and a home sweep of the defending World Series champions on Sunday, when the teams complete their four-game series. There is no longer any reasonable hope of a playoff berth this season, and Kansas City Royals general manager Dayton Moore needs to approach to August 1 trade deadline on Monday with the intent to help his club for 2017. “I was thinking myself he got two outs quick, I’m thinking maybe we send him out for another (inning)”, Yost said.

Before the game, the Royals placed closer Wade Davis on the 15-day disabled list with what Yost called a mild flexor strain. First pitch is set for 2:05pm with pregame coverage on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 1:30pm. The Royals released Triple-A Omaha OF Travis Snider. 300 and combined for 28 extra-base hits. 232 last season playing 87 games for Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Rangers: OF Shin-Soo Choo is eligible to come off the disabled list Thursday after being out since July 20 with lower back inflammation.

Even though Martinez looked a little better over three starts in June, he still left plenty of work for the bullpen and settled for no-decisions in games the Rangers would eventually lose.

Rangers continues against inBaltimore Orioles as Yu Darvish starts. Both losses have come since returning from the disabled list on July 16 following shoulder discomfort.
