This weekend’s Sunday World back page reveals the vast sums being discussed by all parties in the Pogba deal, with the world record transfer fee that Juventus are willing to accept just part of the negotiations that have been ongoing for several weeks.

The ESPN FC crew speculates about the ongoing rumours of Paul Pogba completing a move to Manchester United.

“He was a very talented young player, I played with him and I knew how good he was”.

Pogba could be the player around whom this process takes place, having been too good for many Serie A opponents to handle down the years. “Such as the likes of ‘[Cristiano] Ronaldo or [Lionel] Messi” and believes “Pogba is nowhere near there yet”.

Pogba has made major strides since he departed United in 2012, going on to become one of the standout players in Italian football and one of the most highly rated prospects in Europe. I certainly think there has been a lot of improvement.

‘For that sort of money, you want someone who is going to score 50 goals a season like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

“If Pogba is to be sold it will be for the right price, on Juve’s conditions and without discounts”, stated the broadcaster, with Di Marzio adding that it is “remotely possible” Pogba remains at Juventus.

Not less attractive, I think it’s probably a mentality thing. I’ve seen a lot of him at Borussia Dortmund.

“I just don’t think he is worth £86m”, Scholes was quoted as saying by Sports Witness. I don’t think there was much option when he left.
