Trump’s candidacy is also a product of a revolt against an old order seen as self-serving, self-perpetuating and unresponsive to ordinary Americans.

“It’s not so much that I’m on the ticket, it’s because of the stark choice that’s posed to Americans in this election”, she said.
Obama acknowledged Wednesday that his hopes for a new tone in politics, embodied in the rousing Democratic convention speech he delivered 12 years ago, never materialized. For national security hawks, Clinton laid out her strategy for defeating the Islamic State, declaring, “Make no mistake – we will prevail”.
“Think of what’s gone on just this week and connect the dotted lines”, said top Clinton donor J.B. Pritzker, a billionaire venture capitalist in Chicago.
Praising her “unbelievable work ethic” and tenacity, he said he realized that “she was in this for everyone who needs a champion”.
Unifying theme The most unifying theme of Clinton’s speech did not relate to Trump, though her sharp attacks on the NY tycoon certainly gelled the Clinton and Bernie Sanders camps, however briefly for the ideological liberal purists in the Vermont senator’s inner core.
“As many times as he does it, he always seems to capture the moment perfectly and says the words that are in my soul”, said Rob McGuire, an attorney from Nashville and Clinton delegate.
Sarah McBride, a transgender advocate and spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign, hailed Clinton for the speech, which took place hours after McBride’s own address before the Democratic National Convention, and similarly criticized Trump.
“I’ve been saying let’s just beat her on November 8”, he said, “but you know what?” “And I promise you, our strength, our greatness, does not depend on Donald Trump!”.
“In this campaign, I’ve met so many people who motivate me to keep fighting for change”, Clinton said.
“By so many measures, our country is stronger and more prosperous than it was when we started”, Obama said.
Just 19 percent of Americans said the country is heading in the right direction in an AP-GfK poll this month, a significant drop from the 39 percent who felt that way a year and a half earlier.
Trump told reporters he was just being sarcastic Wednesday when he repeatedly said Russian hackers should break into Clinton’s computer servers and find 33,000 emails she deleted. “And that’s one reason why nearly every country on Earth sees America as stronger and more respected today than they did eight years ago”.
“The American Dream is something that no wall will ever contain”.
Introducing Clinton on stage was her daughter, Chelsea Clinton who talked about raising her two children and the candidate as a mother and grandmother.
“For all the places where I’ve fallen short”, he said. “And I think the president made a flawless rebuttal to that tonight, which is America isn’t broken – we have work to do and we are going to do it together”.
Citing the anti-establishment nature of the Sanders and Trump campaigns, one protester pointed out that, “for some people, Bernie is the person they stuck with, but there are some anti-establishment things they want, and they’ll go with Trump”.
“She covered every part of her vision from local and community action, and what we have to do door-to-door-to-door up to the state level, federal and global”, Birch said. I thought she’d give me a big, fat, handsome congratulations.

“They were drawn together by love of country, and the selfless passion to build something better for all who follow”, Clinton said. Yes, America’s destiny is ours to choose.
