Rajan expects a minimum 50-day run for “Kabali” in Aurora Theatre since it’s being released simultaneously in so many screens, some with multiple shows, in different languages. Kabali’s India collections stand at Rs 250 crore while its overseas box office has yielded Rs 100 crore until now. The premier of Kabali in Us has broken the records of Bahubali and Salman Khan’s Sultan. The film did not open to rave reviews on Friday, however, that didn’t dampen the spirit of Rajinikanth’s fans to celebrate the release of their cinema icon’s latest movie. Box office collections for Malaysia and Dubai are not yet confirmed, but word on the ground is that Kabali has done very well there and a margin of around Rs 15-20 crore is being allowed for earnings from those territories. “The film collected more than Rs 40 crores”.

Kabali is head and shoulders above the Superstar’s last two outings – Lingaa and Kochadaiiyaan – but it’s far from being a shoo in for when they make a blu-ray disc of Rajinikanth’s greatest hits.
“We are not against showing films of other languages in the state or in Bengaluru, the most cosmopolitan city in the country”.
At least, 1,000 screens launched the film in Tamil Nadu, home to Rajinikanth ever since he made his debut in the mid ’70s while several hundreds showed it in territories like US, UK, Malaysia and Singapore where his followers are a legion. Kabali (2016) second day worldwide box office collection has generated revenue of Rs. 85 to 90 crores. It had organised the film’s premiere (Tamil version) on Thursday, July 21, at the Federal theatre in Jalan Raja Laut which was graced by many dignitaries and 100s of Rajinikanth’s fans. Kabali producer Thanu has reportedly claimed that the movie will earn over Rs 500 crore. “It shows that there is only one superstar and that is Rajinikanth”. The total box office earning in United States is almost 1.28 crore on first day.

It is said that the day one gross figure in TN will be in range of 17- 20 crores, thanks to the high ticket price and large number of screens. The film released across 400 screens in USA and Canada.
