The most recent shooting happened minutes after midnight Monday, when San Jose police rushed to a home on San Marcos Street after a woman called about her brother showed up drunk with a shotgun.

Police were investigated whether the suspect committed suicide or was shot to death by officers. Neither of the officers was hurt, according to spokesman Officer Albert Morales of the San Jose Police Department.
