Diamondbacks 3, Dodgers 14
Yasmani Grandal and Corey Seager each hit three-run home runs, Joc Pederson added a two-run shot for the Dodgers who scored 25 runs in the three-game series. It was Seager’s 18th home run of the season but his first since June 30.

Yasiel Puig’s fifth-inning double that broke a 3-3 tie when off Yasmany Tomas’ glove in left, and Justin Turner’s single that made it 5-3 in the sixth went off the glove of shortstop Chris Owings. The only positions he has not played are pitcher, catcher and at first base.
“I was just sticking with my plan, you know, staying down in the zone, using my sinker effectively”, said Braden, who got 11 ground-ball outs five days after surrendering three home runs in his major league debut.
After the second visit, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts summoned Ross Stripling to replace Norris, and the club later announced Norris left with “back muscle tightness”.
On Sunday, however, they overcame that rough start with an offense that led the National League in runs per game during July (5.2).
Segura led off the game with his ninth home run of the season, smacking an 0-2 pitch from Kazmir into the bleachers in left for a 1-0 Arizona lead.
Seager then scored the tiebreaking run later in the inning and added an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth for the final margin.
The Dodgers have reinstated Kike Hernandez from the 15-day disabled list and started him in center field against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He struck out four and walked one. Gosselin had been called out stretching a single into a double, but the Diamondbacks challenged the call and it was overturned after a 1-minute, 27-second review.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Dodgers are -1.5 (+105) on the runline while the Diamondbacks are +1.5 (-115) for tonight’s game.
NOTES: The Diamondbacks designated RHP Josh Collmenter and INF/OF Michael Freeman for assignment. Nothing new on LHP Clayton Kershaw, who continues to rehab with core and back strengthening exercises.
Diamondbacks: LHP Patrick Corbin will make his fourth start of the season against the Dodgers in the series finale on Sunday. Norris has pitched into the seventh inning four times in 15 starts this season, though his last start on Tuesday (6⅓ innings vs. Tampa Bay) was the first time he did so in five starts with the Dodgers.

Shipley’s win is only the fourth by an Arizona starter in the 14 games the team has played since the All-Star break.
