While we wait impatiently for the return of Season 7, let’s talk about who YOU think could’ve gotten the bat.

In the comic, King Ezekiel is a former zookeeper who is known for despising Negan. “Ezekiel leads the group with a level headed approach but distances himself from the community by calling himself the king, acting like a king, and keeping a pet tiger”. “The Walking Dead” executive producer Scott M. Gimple noted he was younger and svelter than his comic book counterpart.

“I was asking Scott [Gimple], ‘How do we plan on doing this thing?’ He pointed out that it’s not particularly humane to have like a live tiger on set and it’s also very risky for the actors”.

Ezekiel will be portrayed by Khary Payton (Teen Titans, General Hospital)and if the trailer is any distinction, we’ll be getting some Shiva action as well.

Rounding off the barrage of new information, fans have also been told the air date for season seven – October 24 on Fox in the United Kingdom, one day after the transmission in the US.

Season six teased audiences over whether the same character would be on the end of Negan’s barbed-wire-covered baseball bat, “Lucille”. “It’s a really shitty start to the season”, Lincoln said while being tight-lipped who the victim is, Variety reports. Check out the brand new trailer below.

And during the panel, they also premiered the trailer for the upcoming season 7.

In somewhat related news, season 3 of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead series will premiere this year.

Kirkman clarified that the tiger you see in the trailer is CGI.

“I’m gonna beat the holy hell out of one of you”, we hear Negan say, before we get sweet flashbacks from each character on the chopping block, reminding us all why we’ll care if any of them is the one to go. In the last few moments of the finale, the The Walking Dead recreated a famous scene from the comics which shows our heroes lined up in front of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
