Billed as the eighth instalment in the series, the play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” and a book based on its script have helped awaken a new wave of Pottermania five years since the previous episode was made into a movie.
Speaking at the premiere of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, Rowling said this is Harry’s last adventure.
When asked by Oprah Winfrey in 2010 whether or not she knew what happens “ever after” with Harry, Rowling said “Yeah, I do”.
The play and the book pick up the story 19 years after “The Deathly Hallows”.
Wizards were a pretty common sight Sunday afternoon as “Harry Potter Day” took over the community of Kensington.
Adding that he did not have a favourite character, he said fans would need to read the book themselves to find out more.
Ms Rowling said there would be no movie version of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
People were already lining up outside at around 11:30 Saturday night, almost nine years to the day that book seven, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, first hit book shelves.
With all this interest in Harry Potter emerging again, despite the fact that this isn’t a traditional addition to the stories of the wizarding world, can we expect the story of Hogwarts most famous student to continue?
However, playwrights Jack Thorne and John Tiffany did collaborate with Rowling for the story. Cursed Child will run late into 2017 in the United Kingdom, but then it’s thought the play will tour, and we know J.K. Rowling would love to see the play arrive on Broadway.
Those still seeking a Harry Potter fix should look to the creators of Pokemon Go, who are developing a Harry Potter version of the game.

“It’s the most extraordinary fandom, so I’m not surprised. they didn’t want to spoil it for each other”, she told BBC News as she attended the gala opening of the play at the Palace Theatre in London on Saturday (30Jul16).
