Boy of 12 among four teens charged with McDonald’s murder

Upon arrival at the scene, outside a branch of McDonald’s, officers discovered a man in his 40s who had suffered a number of injuries to his head and abdomen.

A 12-year-old boy blew a kiss to his mother as he appeared in court charged with murdering a man outside a McDonald’s restaurant.

A police spokesmen said: ‘This is in relation to police being called to Warrington Street in Ashton town centre shortly before 10:50pm on Wednesday 27 July 2016 to reports of an assault.

The suspects, aged 12, 16, 16, and 17, who can not be named for legal reasons, are due before Oldham magistrates this morning.

The child was charged with three others – two aged 16 and one 17 – after an assault in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester.

Four youngsters have been arrested and are being questioned by police.

In an unbroken voice, the 12-year-old confirmed his name, date of birth and address in court on Monday.

Detective Inspector Kevin O’Regan said it had been a “fast-moving investigation” and urged anyone with any information to get in touch “no matter how insignificant you think it may be”.
