Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press”, Khizr Khan says Trump showed disrespect toward his wife and that the country needs to be run by someone with a “moral compass”.

“He has a dark heart…he is not suitable, not fit, even for the candidacy of the stewardship that he is seeking”, said Khan, an attorney and Pakistani immigrant to the USA in a statement on CNN’s “State of the Union” program.
Trump’s campaign released a statement in which the Republican presidential nominee called Capt. Khan “a hero to our country” but condemned his father for having “no right to stand in front of millions of people and claim I have never read the Constitution (which is false) and say many other inaccurate things”.
Trump first speculated that she had been forbidden by her husband to speak, a comment aimed squarely at stoking certain perceptions of Muslims, and then that Khan hadn’t written his own speech and was effectively acting as a sock puppet for the Democratic party.
“Anything short of Senator McConnell and Speaker Ryan revoking their endorsements of Donald Trump is cowardice”, he said.
For now, she’s happy to have Trump look for it. “She probably, maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say”, EFE news quoted Trump as saying.
Khan and his wife, Ghazala, shared their son’s story at the convention. Khan went on to say that Trump had “sacrificed nothing and no one”, in a scathing rebuke of the Republican candidate.
The United States would not tolerate that from any other country, especially one considered an adversary, she said. Khan told Trump he’s “sacrificed nothing and no one”.

Trump’s comments sparked immediate outrage on social media – both because they critiqued a mourning mother and because many considered them racist and anti-Muslim.

The Khans appeared in Philadelphia on Thursday, the same night that Trump’s Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, formally accepted her party’s nomination.
McCain said: “I can not emphasize enough how deeply I disagree with Mr. Trump’s statements”.

Trump has previously said McCain shouldn’t be regarded as a war hero for being imprisoned in Vietnam, saying “I like people who weren’t captured”.
