Trump and company were locked inside for almost 30 minutes, when the Colorado Springs Fire Department made their way to the incident, opening the elevator doors, before lending the group a ladder to climb out with.

Donald Trump’s Friday rally in Colorado was pushed back an hour when he and some of his Secret Service entourage ended up stuck inside of a malfunctioning elevator.
The rescue happened at around 1:30 p.m. Trump was scheduled to speak at 2 p.m.
This came after Colorado Springs firefighters rescued Trump and about ten others from a stalled elevator just before his speech by prying open the top and lowering a ladder, according to KKTV.
The elevator has since been put out of service.
“There’s an old adage that when a fire marshal walks into a room, milk curdles. This is why our country doesn’t work”, Trump started as soon as he got onto the stage. “We have plenty of space here”.
“We have a fire marshal that said we can’t allow more people”.
“And the reason they won’t let them in is because they don’t know what the hell they’re doing”, Trump continued. “Hey, maybe they’re a Hillary person”. Angry that fire marshal Brett Lacey (who “was recently honored by the city as “Civilian of the Year” for his role in helping the wounded at a 2015 mass shooting at a local Planned Parenthood”) had capped the number of people at the event due to capacity safety concerns, Trump told the audience that he was “probably a Democrat”.
“I can’t think of an election that is more important, certainly in my lifetime”, Clinton told supporters at the rally in Philadelphia.

“I get a call saying Mr. Trump was stuck in the elevator at the Mining Exchange”, Perry R. Sanders, co-owner of the hotel told CBS affiliate KKTV.
