Kell Brook vows to “shock the world” when he faces Gennady Golovkin
“It’s a fight that makes me so excited, I’m the best welterweight on the planet and nobody wants to fight me, it’s the same with GGG [Golovkin]”, he said at a news conference on Monday.

WBA “Super”, IBF and WBC middleweight champion Golovkin (35-0-KO32) will take on reigning IBF welterweight champion Brook at The O2 in London with both fighters seeking to avoid a first defeat of their career.
GENNADY GOLOVKIN feels Kell Brook will be the “biggest test” of his glittering career to date when they meet on September 10.
‘Kell is a true champion.
“Kell Brook has been with us for 13 fights and I believe he’s very special”.
Brook said: “There will be nothing in size difference”. I’m so excited to see what I can do. “You’re going to see the best of me, I’m at my natural weight, at 160lb”.
Asked about his thoughts on the Canelo vs. Liam Smith fight, Golovkin said, “It’s not interesting for me”. Brook is the biggest test for us.
Brook, the IBF welterweight world champion, is also unbeaten in 36 bouts but many regard the Sheffield fighter as the underdog due to the fact he is stepping up two weight divisions. “I can’t fight with him”.
Special K has been working with trainer Dominic Ingle at a camp in Fuerteventura, Spain, and says he is putting the work in to make sure there will be nothing between the fighters come the biggest fight of the year.
However, the smart boxer-puncher is not fazed by the odds and is ready to capitalise on the biggest opportunity of his life. I understand this is business, I respect the sport, I respect boxing.
“It’s my pleasure to bring Gennady to the United Kingdom for this wonderful fight – he’s a fighter I admire greatly and it’s great to work with Tom Loeffler and HBO”.
“I always seem to do enough, and I always find a way to win, and it’s going to be the same September 10th”.
“Nobody’s ever got the best out of me, all the opponents I’ve been in with”. I’m going to be so sharp, so alive on the night. There’ll be massive drama.
“People go on about the weight, but Mike Tyson was fighting guys a lot heavier than him and he was an animal”. I promise a good fight.
“To be a great fighter you have to attempt to do great things and that’s what Kell Brook is doing and from our side we are very confident”. I’m ready 100 per cent on September 10.

The fight will be screened live in the United Kingdom on pay-per-view Sky Sports Box Office and on HBO in the US.
