Gas Prices Drop 2.8 Cents In Chattanooga

According to GasBuddy historical data, gasoline prices on August 1 in OH have ranged widely over the last five years: $2.33 per gallon in 2015, $3.49 per gallon in 2014, $3.61 per gallon in 2013, $3.65 per gallon in 2012 and $3.65 per gallon in 2011.

The price per gallon of regular unleaded was $1.99 on Sunday, one cent less than last week, 16 cents less than a month ago and 52 cents less than previous year.

Over 40% of the nation’s 135,000 gas stations continue to offer a gallon of regular at less than $2, while a year ago that price was not possible to find.

$2.25 in 2015, $3.16 in 2014, $3.33 in 2013, $3.22 in 2012 and $3.58 in 2011.

Los Angeles- $2.76/g, down 7.2 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.83/g.

Madison- $2.07/g, down 2.1 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.10/g.

Des Moines- $2.20/g, down 5.4 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.25/g.

GasBuddy reports the national average has fallen two cents per gallon in the last week to $2.13 a gallon.

Gasbuddy.com says motorists around the country are enjoying the cheapest summer gas prices in more than a decade.

AAA puts the statewide average at $2.19 and Gasbuddy.com at $2.17. “Demand for gasoline continues to surge as low prices have spurred more road trips and have swayed consumer vehicle purchasing habits”, said Will Speer, senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy in a news release.

MA drivers are enjoying some midsummer relief at the gas pump.

AAA Northeast spokeswoman Mary Maguire says falling oil prices and strong supplies are continuing to keep prices down.
