Hot weather ahead in Oklahoma this week

Winds could gust up to 16 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

The heat index Monday in Oklahoma City will be near 100 degrees. Winds could gust as high as 20 miles per hour.

“The work week will start off with lots of clouds and highs in the 70s across most of southern New England, although a few spots may reach 80 degrees in the lower Connecticut Valley”, forecasters wrote on social media.

A dry cold front, expected to pass through tomorrow afternoon, will produce some strong winds, with gusts between 30 to 45 miles per hour possible in the afternoon. West winds up to 7 miles per hour will shift to the east in the afternoon.

Tuesday: Sunny and hot with a high near 99.

No significant change in temperature is expected on Tuesday. South wind around 10 miles per hour.

A minor drop in temperature is expected on Wednesday, yet remaining above theannual average by nearly 3 degrees Celsius. South wind 8 to 11 miles per hour.

Wednesday will be much of the same, with an afternoon high of around 102 and an overnight low around 66.

Thursday, Aug. 4 – Sunny, with a high near 91.

The low Sunday night will be 70 with a 50 percent chance of rain.

Friday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 97.
